As United Methodists, we believe:
God
God creates, sustains, loves, suffers, judges, redeems, and reigns. God is involved in our past, present, and future, and God loves humankind which was created in the image of God. Since God is present with us, God hurts when creation is hurt. God suffers in our midst in all aspects of violence, abuse, injustice, prejudice, hunger, poverty, or illness.
All of our behavior is measured by God's standard of righteousness, including our behavior's motivations or intents. Out of God's love for us, God forgives us of our sin and reconciles us back to God. God is redeeming all of creation, welcoming it back into right relationship with God and with itself.

Jesus
Jesus is the Son of God, fully God and fully human. Jesus was tempted, grew tired, wept, was angry; Jesus is the paradigm of what it means to be human.
Jesus is the Christ, God's Anointed One. We affirm that Jesus was an is the fulfillment of God's promise to bring salvation to all people.
We proclaim Jesus as Lord, freely submitting our will to his will, and profess that it is Jesus who rules the world.
Through Jesus our Savior, God freed us from sin and gives us the gift of eternal life. The gift of atonement (at-one-ment) is our reconciliation with God. God reconciles us to God through the mystery of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, and victory over sin and death through his Resurrection.
